Just a boring appt, everything was normal.  I start pelvics next week.  The midwife did say, "I bet we have a baby in 2-3 weeks".  Now, she isn't supposed to say stuff like that and get my hopes up!

I asked the Midwife about my constant pressure/pain.  She said my pelvic bone is separating which is common in women who have their babies close together.  She said the pain can be pretty severe.  I can also have 3 people in the delivery room instead of just 2.   My weight, b/p, and Shelby's heartbeat were all wonderful.  Yippee!

Today I pre-admitted to the hospital.  It is getting so exciting!  Shelby will be here so soon!

Today Mike and Mallory went with me to my appointment.  We had to wait 50 minutes to get an exam room then the MW saw me for maybe 2 minutes.  She acted like she didn't have time to answer any of my questions.  I did find out that Shelby is head down.  Yay!

I had to go back to the midwife.  I'm not real happy, but there is nothing I can do about it.  She measured me and listened to Shelby's heartbeat.  All was well and I left.

Well, all those Thanksgiving pies caught up with me!  I will control myself better from now on.  The doc said everything was great.  I had a thyroid test again to make sure my meds were still ok.  I am pretty worried because I didn't grow much in 4 weeks.  The doc said it was nothing to worry about though.

Doctor visit today!  The doctor said I had a cute tummy.  She wanted to change my due date since my ultrasound was 2 weeks off.  I told her that it was silly since I knew when I got pregnant.  She agreed, so we are keeping the date.  I told her it didn't matter anyway since she is coming at the end of February.  I asked if it was ok that I gained 5 pounds this month.  She said I was doing great with my weight!  So, yipee!  I also did my glucose test.  It wasn't that bad.  I just hated not being able to eat for 12 hours.

I had an ultrasound today.  Silly me forgot to drink the 10 gallons of water...so on the way there I had to stop and get a jug to chug while I was driving.  Our u/s nurse was kinda ditsy but great!  The baby looked wonderful!  I was so relieved.  Almost immediately, the tech got a pee pee shot and said there's 3 lines...  I said, "YEAHHH!  3 lines Mike!"  He said, "It's a girl???"  He said it so cute, like he was in shock.  I think we both thought this one was going to be a boy.  Baby Shelby was very cooperative and we got some great shots of her.

Today I had an appointment with a "real" doctor.  She was super nice and just sat with her mouth open when I told her about my so called prenatal care I had been receiving.  She was totally appalled that "they" can treat people like I have been treated.  She looked at my paperwork and said, "Your thyroid was off the chart back in August!"  I told her that they had called me last week to have my blood drawn again.  She said my thyroid should be monitored very closely and checked every 6-8 weeks while I am pregnant.   She was also shocked that no one had measured my funal heighth yet.  I am measuring 2 weeks ahead (hee hee).

I was scheduled to have an ultrasound today.  I had Mike take off work and everything.  When we got there, they said I couldn't have one because I wasn't 20 weeks.  I am 19 weeks and 4 days!!  ^%$(@  I cried because I was so upset.  I worry that something is wrong with this baby due to my lack of prenatal care.  The midwife DID let me hear the hearbeat today but did not measure my tummy.

The midwife did nothing again.  I didn't get to hear the heartbeat and she didn't measure my tummy.

Since Mike was laid off, we were without insurance.  So, we had to file for Medicaid.  State insurance is a total joke.  I didn't have my first appointment until I was almost 12 weeks along.  Then I was asked really irrelevant questions like, "Did I know who the father was" and "Did I have anyone in the family that abused alcohol or drugs".  I was also asked, "How many STDs I have had in the past year" and "How many sexual partners have I had in the past 6 months".  I mean what the...  I was totally treated like trailer trash.  The midwife didn't touch my belly, which was very strange.  I didn't get to hear the heartbeat either.  She just did a quick ultrasound to tell me that my due date was off by 8 days.  Sure!  I bet those spermies swam in there for 8 days!  Freak!

I had gotten up to check on Mallory for the umpteenth time and just felt so darn woosey I decided to take a test. While staring at those 2 dark pink lines, I just started crying. I couldn't imagine being pregnant again so soon. BUT it was meant to be.
I was pretty relieved to find the reason for my swelling belly.  I had just purchased new jeans because all of mine were getting tight.  I bet I get tons bigger with this one than I did with Mallory!
